《Research in Cold and Arid Regions》 was founded in 2008. The journal focuses on the research achievements of the two major polar regions on Earth - cold and arid regions. It highlights the interdisciplinary characteristics of the study of the sky earth ecosystem and the human earth system, and will timely report the latest achievements in the study of the processes and patterns of the Earth's surface system in cold and arid environments.

Inclusion: Nine domestic and foreign databases, including E-SCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index), Scopus, CAB Abstracts (Centre for Agriculture and BioscienceAbstract), UPD (Ulrich's Periodic Directory), JST China (Japan Science and Technology Agency), CSCD (Chinese Science Citation Database), and CSPD (China Science Periodic Database), are included.
